As the rush for rolling chassis, and other parts winds down I can return to working on the "builders page". The plan is to take a bunch of pictures of this last roller and add them to this section of the web site. The pictures will be divided in the below categories with narrative instructions to supplement your plans. At the same time I will be designing the two seater and finishing the Desert Race Cars that we hope to enter in the Fud Racing series in El Centro, California. In addition to those projects, I am still planning on getting the Cougar Kids Kart on paper very soon. It will be a test in time management.

In this view you can see the front bumper is important to bring the steering box back inside the car. We have tried a couple ways to mount it but putting it forward of the A-arm mounts works the best.

I have taken the boss found on page F3 of your plans and made it to fit inside the 1" .095 after the bend is made in the tubing. The plans were intended for a guy that may not have a good bender.

This image is a link to your rack and pinion mount and front bumper drawings. The front bumper is usually made from the ends found under the chop saw. In this case I decided to add a couple of bends out on the ends just to see how it looked. I liked it and continued building until I noticed that it was improperly spaced and had to toss it. Before cutting it off I added the diagonal brace for the picture. Anything that looks like a hook will work like a hook. Closing the hook will keep it from "hanging up" on the lawn mower when you back it out of the garage or worse.
